Kids Windows 98 Log Files

Hi

I was hoping if someone could help me, I know Win XP has event viewer etc, to see what is going on in the system. Does Win 98 have a similar function?
If so how do I get to it?

Many thanks

Iyars

Welcome to the forum!

Win98 does have the boot log......if you hit f8 while booting you should get a menu...and one of the choices is "logged" or "bootlogged" (cant remember which)

if you boot with that choice it makes a 'bootlog.txt' and puts it on the c:drive.

it can be helpful sometimes if you are having boot troubles...you can sort of see whats going on....but it is a longgggggggggggg file and difficult to read.

I dont think w98 has much else to compare to the event viewer.

It does not have anything like the Event Viewer AFAIK.

There are only a few log files for specific purposes.
