What's the most efficient media player?

I just made the first season of Chappelle's Show into AVI files, but the quality is so high that I can't play them on my 350mhz P2 (which is hooked to the TV, it's how I play movies). What I need is a really efficient media player to play these videos. Winamp is horrible for videos; there is absolutely no video hardware acceleration. Windows Media Player gets close but doesn't pull through. BSPlayer gets even closer but still isn't fast enough.

Does anybody know of a good player I haven't tried?
