Rant: Printer Drivers!!!

I have an HP LaserJet 3150 that I paid a pretty penny for in 2000 and it worked pretty much flawlessly on my Win98SE system for a few years... A while ago I upgraded to XP, and have since been left with a printer that is half the man or woman that it used to be.

I've tried the printer on another XP system with the same result, have uninstalled/reinstalled the printer countless times to no avail... So far I'm blaming it on the *poorly* converted XP printer drivers that HP has supplied me with.

I really never expected an upgrade to XP to result in a barely operable printer. So, I guess I'm calling HP tomorrow to figure something out, because this is ... well, stupid.

Brandon

Wish I could help you. But I have a rant of my own about printer drivers. Nowadays they are all excessive and too fancy. Seriously some have so much crap with them such as sounds that are played saying the printing has started...very handy when you can hear the printer printing...

Have you checked to see if winxp has the drivers for that printer built in?

Yeah, I've checked.

I'm not even really seeking solutions at this point... It was just a rant. Beyond going through HP, I think I've zeroed out all my options.

Thanks, though.
