serial mouse to ps mouse

I have an old pentium MMX with i believe its a amtron MOBO but anyway it has the old serial mouse and mouse going bad tried to use the adapter to change to ps/2 mouse but system would not recongize it. Is there anyway to hook up ps mouse with adapter card or such in a pci slot ?

It would probably cost you more to find adaptors and get them to work than to go to a used computer store and buy a serial mouse.

I think he means his mobo doesn't have the ps2 connection at all. Your mobo might not have a connection for a ps2 adapter thing either. Not all ps2 mice are compatible with serial. Your best bet would be to find one that supports both (I know IBM and Belkin make them). Usually the mouse would come with a serial to ps2 adapter in the box. If not, you need to go buy one. But make sure the mouse does support both ps2 and serial before buying it.

How about a cheap USB mouse (if USB is supported)?

No PS 2 or USB connector

Have a ps 2 adapter to go in the serial port but it didnt work said mouse was not compatible was trying to use a optical wheel mouse also. Maybe if i try a cheap mouse it would work
