Promise ATA 133 controller question

I've got a 160gb Maxtor running off a Promise ATA133 controller card. The 160gb drive is in 3 partitions with WinME on C and files on D and E. I want to erase WinME and install Win2k on C but it is IMPERATIVE that I don't lose the data on D and E. When the Win2k installation starts it asks for the Promise controller drivers. If I feed it the drivers am I putting my data on D and E or the current partition configuration in danger of being vaporized? The Win2k installation will not proceed without the drivers.

Were ya smart E-nuff to back up yer sHiZ??
You can install it WHERE you select - if your'e sure which partition it's going on , no problem....
The Promise controller's BIOS translation scheme is STILL the same as it was , so it should make no difference at all , since the drives geometry hasn't changed at all. I'd recommend NOT changing from FAT32 to NTFS for the install , UNLESS your C: partition is larger than 32GB.
You will be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad to be rid of the WindowsBl00SkrEEn edition ...
lmao .
