cable modem help

I recently had an additional cable modem line added to my residence. Problem is the new line is in a secondary building on my property. I purchased a Motorola modem to reactivate the line in my house. Of course the cable company wants to double the fee...didn't know this when I purchased the modem. Is there a way to make this secondary modem usable? I need it for my wireless router to be able to effectively use my laptop all over my house. I was having problems with the router reaching across my yard and into my house from the working cable modem. This may have already been addressed here...if so, where?

Need Help,
Mark

Unfortunately no, the cable company will charge you for each modem. (both modems would be capable of providing full bandwidth)

Would it be any easier to make the *other* modem as the 'primary' modem instead? Have you looked into Wireless 802.11g? What about somehow crossing a CAT5e or CAT6 line? (You would have to ask someone else how safe/reliable that would be.)

Or you could get upgraded antennas www.netnimble.net and that would definantly reach across the yard!

yeah..paying two cable bills is too expensive...if u have 802.11b then maybe u need to go to 802.11G..it should have more range etc..or get better antennas
