Talk Fabric softner saves your computer!!

hey everyone with winter here static electricity is all around. I have a possible solution that worked for me. just put a fabric softner sheet in your pocket or shoe. Dont ask how I know this but it does eliminate the quick jolts we get unless of course you like the little burst. hehe

I guess I have to get some of those sheets. It would be kinda messy if I tried that with the liquid softener that I use right now

And this place does have a static problem, except for my puter room, it has antistatic floormats at the workbench and desk.

I also installed grounding pads on the corners of the workbench, so I can touch them and discharge before touching any equipment (if you put a 1Kohm resistor in the ground line, you don't get zapped when you touch it)

Well ... if unique is what you seek ...

Fabric Softener, aye? Hmm...

Somehow, though it may work very well and can be explained, I do not think the idea or practice is going to catch on.

Innovative!

Doesn't work for me!!! I have one of those "static Electric Personalities"! '"

I can usually discharge anywhere any time, but during the winter, we keep the humidity up in the house. Otherwise, I can "pop" a blue one! (Usually on someone's ear! )

Harder

P.S. Any watch without a thick strap across the bezel (between watch and skin) usually doesn't last longer than 1 month. I've been real happy with my current Timex Ironman, it's going on 3d watchband and has lasted 2 years.
