edit: should read closer

download coolbits, it's a great overclocking tool for nvidia cards

you can basically overclock it as high as you want as long as it remains stable, with no pixel problems and stuff like that

Optimal is probably it's default settings, overclocking is always running a risk.

what are the default frequencies of the clock and memory? Usually it's better to overclock the memory first, then the GPU.

you could get it up from anywhere between 10 and 150 mhz higher than default.

the defaults are:

the core clock frequency is 300 mhz

the memory clock frequency is 650 mhz

increase it in increments of 5 or 10 mhz, test it to make sure it's stable (run 3dmark, play some games, do something graphically demanding)
If it's running fine, then up it a little more until you're satisfied.

How about trying different settings, and then running benchmarking programs like 3DMark2001, 3DMark 2003, etc. until you find out what gives best results in your particular system?
