Outdoors new pc wont boot?

I just installed a new intel d875pbz mb
kingston kvr400x64c3ak2/1g ram(2 512 sticks)
intel 3.0 prescott cpu with h/s & fan
I had already put in new e-geforce 128 mb ddr agp video card but have removed it.
the problem is intel specs say no plug for case speaker to plug into (comes with its own 47 ohm speaker). so I cant hear any beeps if there are any.
when I have minimal installed: mb and ram, I turn it on and alls fans spins, mb light is on but cant hear any beep. so, I install video card and plug in monitor. restart, nothing on monitor, it stays black and standby monitor power light flashes ( not solid on light normal) I took out 1 stick of ram and tried again: nothing.
I'm wondering if the ram I bought is not compatible with mb. I saw intel list of tested ram but the numbers on my ram were slightly different than intel's. they showed kvr400x64c3ak2/1024 compared to my kvr400x64c3ak2/1g

I really perplexed and need whatever insight you guys can suggest please help and thanks alot

Hey, kuby:

2 x 512 = 1024 , so you should be OK with the RAM. At least one of those sticks should work - check the proper DIMM slot numbers in the MB manual, that will accept one stick. You can try to re-seat the RAM also.

Do you have another AGP graphics card to plug in, to eliminate the possibility of having a bad e-geforce vid card?

At least it looks like you're getting power to the board. Personally, I have yet to run into a DOA processor.

Just some suggestions.

bill .... I already tried with one stick only but still nothing. I'll try again in other slots (no manual came with mb) but, should'nt I at least hear a beep when it tries to do a post?

k:

I'm not familiar with that particular board. But if it has one of those little black canister-type speakers on-board, you should be getting some type of error beep code. I'm looking at an Intel865 board, and it has that little black speaker. Your 875 board should have one as well.

bill, it does have small round speaker but no beep. It seems like when I hit power switch, nothing happens

are you sure the clear CMOS jumper is in the right position? If it's in the "clear CMOS" position it won't boot.

But you were getting power previously, is that right? Now,nothing is running? No spinning fans at all ; no lights?

You might have to access that manual on the Intel website, to check per Ryan's suggestion.

No time to go into it now, but here are some links with info on the board.

Checking the "Clear CMOS" jumper position is a good suggestion, also you may have a short...

If you haven't already done this, try pulling mobo out of the case to eliminate possibility of an unwanted ground/short situation, install vid card, ram, processor/HS/fan only and try to boot, see what happens. Assuming you get boot, shut down and add back HD, repeat process until you confirm all hardware is okay.

If you did uncover a short, then you need to locate some nylon (or other non-conductive) standoffs, or find some other way to work around that short circuit.

i pulled mb out of case and have it stitting on cardboard box not touching anything. plugged in power supply, fans, and ram. turned on power in back of case and pushed start button. all fans work and mb light is on. nothing else.
