This is my first post Thanks for any help i can find in advance.
I accidently clicked on FRESTORE from the search window on a Compaq with Windows ME OS. and very quikly the system rebooted itself and now when i try to open control panel it looks like there is nothing there or when i click on My Computer and select C: there is nothing there allthough it shows 77 objects in the lower left of the window I cant see or open any of them. A log file of FRESTORE shows it changing state to DQR_USR_QUICK_RESTORE and switching to MSDOS MBR then rebooting machine. How can I undo this and get back to normal operation.

no. i opened MSDOS promt and enter fdisk/mbr. then reboot. was told this might correct the problem, fdisk/mbr enters ok and brings up a new promt line i enter reboot on that line and receive bad command or file name.
Hmmm ok...didn't know it could work like that. I have always booted from a floppy disk and changed to C:\ drive and done it from there, still..you learn something new everyday in here
