Talk Techimo's newest member to become certified

I suppose an easy case could be made for me being certifiable, but I'll stick to the thread topic

I passed my A+ OS exam today to complete my testing (I know, wow, two whole tests). Now I just wait for my cert info from Prometric or CompTIA!! What am I supposed to get? Do I need to ask CompTIA for a package or something? I think I need to find a new testing center. All the cute women that have doing my paperwork and setting up the test is quite distracting ;P

Now the next one will be Apple certification..... Maybe I'll start that training tommorow.

Congrats!

I think the cert just comes to you..I dont think u have to request it.

With the Msoft MCP tests u have to go sign in and request the card be sent to u etc..I keep forgetting to do that, lol.

Thanks everyone!

I was a bit disappointed in the study materials I used, though. They weren't quite accurate and contradicted eachother frequently. So I set up some of my comps with different OS' and simulated as many problems as I could think of, which was a much better help!

thats a good idea and it works good too.
I have several old systems on my network with all the differant os's just for the reason, it helps a lot to actually do the differant things to see and feel how they work.

I have also found many errors and worng answeres to a lot of the sample questions,
so you can't rely on them too much, but they do help a lot.

congrats on the certification, and best wishes on the rest of them to come.

How about taking your Network+ next?

Steve.

I was thinking about that Steve, but I recently purchased an iBook G4 and the tech training software for Apple cert. I have to admit that I am really looking forward to the Apple training and certs., especially since OS X is Unix based. Being that I run a few different flavors of Linux too, I really feel at home with OS X.

However, for the Network + I think I will pick my study materials more wisely.....
