my brother has purchased a bigger hdd for the computer and we installed windows xp on it. but when we remove the old drive it wont work.
c: system drive
g: boot drive
well, is the new drive set for master? and did you connect it the right way with the ide cable, if you removed your old drive, should connect your ide cable from board to end of cable, the cable should have had board connector/middle connector/end connector. make sure your not connected to the middle connector and set the HD to MS using the jumpers on HD, should boot up.
put the new one at the end of cable, set to master, restart pc see if it works...you could also put the old one in as slave put it on the middle connector.
