Integrated AC'97 not integrated!?

First off, I have an Asus P4G533-LV mobo with integrated sound.
Here's the deal, sometime yesterday after having rebooted my comp I couldn't get any sound. I downloaded all the needed drivers and reinstalled them, nothing. Rebooted and went into BIOS and switched the option for the audio and tried all of them, still nothing. So I went looking for solutions and found this one http://www.ocforums.com/archive/thread/245892-1.html. I'm wondering if the thing on this post could somehow help me if the thing about the P4B533-VM and the P4G533-LV being similar. Any help would be greatly, greatly apprecisted.

My recollection is there are AC97 sound card drivers that need to be installed from the Asus motherboard's drivers media CD. Perhaps your sound card drivers got corrupted?

Does the sound "card" show up in Device Manager, perhaps with a yellow exclamation point next to it?

After confirming the AC97 is enabled in BIOS, try uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling sound card driver and associated files.

Did you check your cable connection? Maybe the plug came out.
