Kids how do I take temperature?

I've been reading alot of posts that talk about temperature inside the case. Do I need something extra for my newly built pc? I'm just now assembling it and have the HOT prescott 3.0 cpu.
thanks in advance

Motherboard Monitor should do the trick. Just make sure your motherboard is compatible.

You can find out the CPU/Motherboard temp within the BIOS.
Or, while in Windows using a program such as Motherboard Monitor.

What motherboard do you have?
Get Speedfan- it is a free program that reads your temp sensing diodes on your motherboard. Unlike Motherboard monitor, Speedfan will also tell you the temps of your hdds and their SMART status. You can also change the speed of your adjustable fans through speedfan.
