Install Off A Recovery Cd?????

Hi, my dad has a recovery cd for his pc with win xp home, and i was wondering if theres anyway i can install it on my system??

probably not...first of all thats illegal.....next most of the time those recovery disks are brand specific...they will only work with the brand computer it came with

The Restore(Recovery) CDs are PowerQuest DriveImages... and brand speific

YOU CANNOT USE THESE METHOD UNLESS YOU HAVE A LEGAL LICENSE FOR THAT COMPUTER

If you really want to there should be another CD labeled Operating System CD if not

look for a i386 folder on that computers (the one it came preinstalled on) hard drive and burn it... boot off a dos boot disk (MUST SUPPORT READING CDs!! I RECOMEND THE WIN98 BOOT CD) and type X:\i386\winnt.exe (x is where your CD Drive is)... it starts the windows setup just like bootin off the original...

i did that on my HP that came preinstalled with XP home just to get rid of the HP ****
