Abit Ti4400 errors with 56.72 drivers

Anyone having a problem with the latest nvidia drivers?

I upgraded to 56.64 as it was recommended to fix a small insignificant error that was getting a little annoying.

I upgraded and as soon as I hit any kind of high res graphics my machine crashes/locks up

Win XP tells me "The driver for the display device got stuck in an infinite loop"

I tried to roll back the drivers, nuked it all, then upgraded to 56.72. Same problem.

A ATI 9600 that I borrowed works well, so I assume my mobo/CPU are ok

when you upgraded the drivers, you uninstalled the old ones first right?

Yeah, went back to the XP default
