connecting to AIM
I have trouble connecting to AOL Instant Messenger. Everything else will work, browsing the internet, playing online games, etc. I'm pretty sure it is a problem with my router or my connection to my router because if I hook the internet directly to my computer, it works fine. It also won't hold a connection very long sometimes. So if I do get connected and come back a couple hours later, it will have been signed off.
When I click 'Sign On', it will go through the Connect and Verify steps, but when it gets to Starting Services, it will just sit there for a while and go back to login. Sometimes if I unplug and plug back in my router it will work, but this is annoying when I have downloads and such going on in the backround, and the fact that other people in my house are using the internet.
I have reinstalled AIM several times and have upgraded the firmware in my router several times. Anyone have any idea what's going on? I have cable, win xp, and a Wireless Linksys Broadband Router (BEFW11S4).
