The sellers ratings look okay to me though, don't they look okay to you. We all have to get started somewhere. We can't all start off as power sellers, right? What should I be looking for? |
You pay, like 2%, to a company (Ebay has several they use; do a search) and you send them the payment. After you get the item(and check that it's in good working order) you contact the escrow company to release payment to the seller. It's a little bit of a pain for the seller (not paid as fast) and a little more expensive for you, but worth it. My brother used to buy/sell Bose equipment, and it saved him money at least one time. If you can't find info on Ebay, PM me and I'll ask him.
brandon is right; 128 mb ram is barely enough to boot XP, so plan on memory upgrade cost. Plus, I hope you don't mind using cracked versions of software, as I would be shocked if the seller could produce one COA. The SW alone is worth @ $1200.
Why don't you look at a Dell Inspiron 1100 or 5100? Sign up your email address at Dell Small Business, and they'll send you coupons 2/3 times a month. Keep an eye on Dell deals here:
www.gotapex.com www.slickdeals.com www.fatwallet.com , as well as the "Deals" section here at Techimo. It's not rare to find an 1100 in the $600-$700 range which I think would be a much better value than this old P3 Inspiron you'll have at least $500 in before your through. IMAO
