I got IDE

I just got some IDE cables with neon but they don't work. They only work half of the time hooked up to the HD.And the other set will not work at all with my CD and or DVD drives?

Ribbon cables are ribbons for a reason. They were not designed to be "rounded". I'm assuming your cables are rounded, what with the neon and everything.

There is no promise that rounded or too long cables will work on all systems. Wherever you bought them may or may not take them back. That you'll have to find out yourself.

Did you connect the correct end to the motherboard? They are made so that a certain end is supposed to connect to the board. I'm not sure why, maybe so that "cable select" will work. Also the ATA133 specifications are for an 18" cable. If yours are longer they are out of spec, so this may or may not cause problems.

Yes my cables are 24'' also now that I have the open I can not return them.
