BIOS problem...I think

I have some problem with my computer. I have HP 503n
http://www.epinions.com/pr-Desktops_...ay_~full_specs

yesterday, I was installing some drivers when the problem occur. I downloaded the driver for the Graphics, BIOS, and Modem from the HP website

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...&dlc=en&os=228

I also downloaded an nVidia graphic card (EVGA GeForceFX 5200) from the nVidia's website
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_56.72

I installed the driver for the BIOS first. The comp just shut down and restart itself. Then a message popped up saying that it has just recovered from an error (I am sorry, I cant remember the exact quote). I procceed to install the driver for the the modem and both Graphic cards.

I then restarted the computer as suggested after I installed the driver. The computer seem to start normally but I cant see any thing on the screen. I am not sure how to explain this. You know the small light near the monitor on/off button. The one that goes light green when it's wokring but turn orange when the monitor on but the computer isnt.
Well, that light stays orange the whole time. I think the computer still work normally. I cant be sure because this happen late at night and I turn mute the sound. But I think it's on because I press the buttons when the computer start and I can sometime hear a "beep" sound

I dont really know what happened. Any help would be appreciated.

i'm not really getting about the two graphics cards but i'm starting to think that you have onboard then added a 5200 if this is the case try connecting the monitor to the onboard graphics if that works uninstall both graphics drivers and then install the 5200 drivers

The first graphic card is intergrated. The second I bought so I could connect the computer to the tv.
I had the new graphic card installed before. There wasnt a problem with it. I just uninstalled it last night, a little before I reinstall with another driver.
I am not sure if it is the cause of the problem or not. Previously I got the driver from http://www.evga.com/support/downloads/default.asp since ...well, the label on the video card box says EVGA.com http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...130-188&depa=0
I dont know the difference but the EVGA one was about 16 meg while the one from nVidia was around 10 meg.

Send a message via Yahoo to paul9
okay, when you updated the bios, you probably had it reset itself to factory defaults, so any settings you changed are back to original. get into your bios settings page for the video, enable init agp first or similar, and disable onboard video.

/edit cuz me spulling mistooks were werss thean ussualll

I unplugged the video card and start the comp. It's work fine...
I didnt expect it because I got the driver from nVidia website...I figured it would work.

If you want to use your video card You need to dis-able the on-board video and enable AGP video in BIOS as Paul stated.

Yep. And the AGP card should blow the onboard video away.
