? on link insertion

The other day I posted this link for refurbished computers and instead of the "text to be displayed" showing as "PIII" it shows as:

PI
II

PIII

I know the state of the world doesn't rest on this but why?

The vB autolink routine has a tendency to truncate or improperly rewrite links for long URL addresses with complex syntax. The line wrap routine could have also falsely wrapped the text due to then length of the URL.
