Is ATI 9200 SE any good?

I was just wondering if the ATI 9200 SE is worth the money?
thanx

Go for the non SE instead, since most SE versions are clocked down, and plain bad. I dont think its worth the money.

isnt there a sticky about this kind of thing?

Check it out up top... its really good, it will give you a benchmark comparison for all of the cards. That way youll see exactly how many FPS you would be more capable of with the non SE version...

The SE version isnt even on there, so that might be a hint...

I have a feeling that I bought a bad card. For a reasonably low price what is a good 128mb ATI card?

depending on how much you want to spend, the 9800 pro from newegg for 199 is the best price. If you don't want to spend that much i would go with newegg's cheapest 9600pro. It sells for 112.

I hear it's bad to buy aything with the word "NVidia" in the front of the name, and "SE" at the end of the name.

Oh man...That's a snap!

well, i prefer not to buy any video card with the word "nVidia" on it, unless it is the Ti series.

Well, no all Nvidia cards are bad, its just that right now ATI has better cards and better prices. The Ti series is the best serie in my opinion from Nvidia. Most video cards from the FX serie for example are bad considering their price.

Also the SE versions of video cards are great for people that are on a very strict budget but still want a decent video card. If you are not, I think its worthless going for a SE version video card.

The 9200SE is a great card if all you want is good 2D and 100% quiet operation for a rock bottom price. Like me

Otherwise, being a previous-generation chip, the lowest clocked version of it, topped off with halved RAM bandwidth, you guess that 3D performance won't be up to it.

Spending a little more, I wouldn't go for a normal 9200 but rather a 9600SE - same game as above, only with a current generation DX9 chip.

Or be patient and save your pennies and get a more spendy card. That would make more sense.
