Normal TVs are horrible compared to computer monitors. These new high definition TVs are better than normal TVs, but can they hold a candle to my computer monitor?
Another somewhat related question, will cable TV look a lot better on my computer monitor? TV stations are starting to be more HDTV capable so I'm thinking that watching TV on my computer could be the way to go.
Does anybody here watch TV on their computer? Is it better than watching normal TV?
Computer monitors have it all over HDTV, except for one thing. Size. Actually, though, true HDTV offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 lines, but unless you're on a CEO salary, you won't be buying one of those systems any time soon.
No, I don't watch TV on my monitor, but we do watch movies and they look great.
Normal Cable Television doesn't look much better if at all when on a computer monitor. The quality sent through regular cable is only meant to be seen on TV's, sending a higher quality signal that is never going to be viewed would be a waste. Although watching TV through my ATI all in wonder does have advantages such as ease of surfing and some other nice bonuses the only way I would justify watching TV on my computer for quality purposes is if I had a HDTV subscription.
A side note: If I could afford an HDTV that would turn my computer into the ultimate Audio Visual machine. My video card supports HDTV connections and i'm all ready connected to my stereo. Add in the remote wonder and you don't even need the computer in the same room. Only drawback is haveing a windows desktop inbetween applications
