Cry Vs Source

Ok, having played Far Cry and having read forums here and there, i have gathered that a lot of people do not feel that that Far Cry engine is very good for performance on most ppls PC's.

So, i was wondering - What do you think the differences will be in performance of the Source engine for HL2. I heard that this engine will be a lot more stable than the Far Cry engine, and should run a lot better on most PC's.


What youz think about this??

I will probably pick up an old geforce 7 to play hl2 on....should run it ok.

The Source engine has been developed to be scalable. It is supposed to be able to run with cards as low as a Geforce 256 or maybe a bit lower. Overall when "a" game that uses the source engine is released it should have a much wider range of PC's that it can be played on. One can assume (but we all know where that gets us) that it will play better that some of the more recent titles because the engine was built for looks and Optimization.

i hear the one vampire game based on the source engine is supposed to be very cool, you can choose what kind of vampire you want to be (and that vampire family) and it will have some interesting multiplayer features

Just gotta wait for my new computer/the game to release "

Yeah, i read that game is gonna be like a Role playing FPS like Deus Ex, looks good.
