windows media player 9

i downloaded wmp9 setup as per Napster's request. At the end of the install phase installer tells me that it was unable to install and to try again later. does anyone have any ideas? i need wmp so that i can listen to my napster music. thanks

Get the free "Security Update" and Internet Security CDs from M$. There should be a thread on it in either the OS or Steals and Deals section here. I know for sure it's in the OS section on forums.anandtech.com - just enter the section and search on- free -. . The CD has WMP 7.1 and 9 as well as lots of other stuff. Unfortunately it takes several weeks to arrive from the time you order it.

thanks.. i didnt even think about trying to install it off of the cd, only off of the downloaded internet file.... i will try that as soon as i find the cd in my dorm room

it says that it detects 9 on my computer already and wont reinstall

"It was not possible to complete Setup

Windows Media Player 9 Series was not installed. To update Windows, run Windows Media Player 9 Series Setup again."

AHHHH

ps, this is after it spends 2 minutes installing and after it gets to 100%...

Try getting rid of WMP via Add/Remove Software, reboot and try reinstalling.
