How to make a raid?

so after i installed my 60gb drive EVERYTHING has gone slower i heard of raids but not extacly sure how to make one................................please help

You need more than one drive for RAID. 2 for mirror and 3 or more for a RAID5. It can be done by hardware or software depending. What do you have as far as drives?

ok i have a 40gb maxtor already



and a new 60gb maxtor which is really slowing down the computer. i want to make them as one as a raid

You need a RAID card first, and it is preferred that you have two drives that are the same size or you will only get the total space of the two drives added together. If you turn your 60gig and 40gig into a RAID array you will only get 80 gig of space, wasting 20gig...

wtf any way combine the drives? you make them faster and work together.

I guess I don't understand what you are asking. Could you be a little clearer? Did you follow the links? That should tell you most of what you need to know.
