Black screen when i load games but i can hear sound!! Direct draw problem??

Hi guys...
i got this problem with my graphics card when i try to play pro evolution soccer 3 or kingpin.. they are both games that use direct draw.. for some reason i can hear the sound of hte game runing but no picture! The screen goes black!

I tried doing Directx tests but the direct draw tests fail...

I have a Jetway Via 266 mobo
256mb sapphire 9600 xt
256 SD Ram (But ive tried DDR ram too)
Athlon XP 1800

direct X 9 installed latest version from windows update
catalyst 4.3 drivers
latest via 4 in 1 from the jetway website...

Fast write is off in bios and my my agp speed settings are 4x


is there anything anyone can help with??? im sure its just a simple problem that maybe im not addressing... is it anything to do with BIOS!??

this happened to me once when my toshiba console SOMEHOW corrupted dx9 ddraw.dll...I had to use that directx uninstaller (the possibly dangerous one, i'm not sure of what the website is) and i reinstalled dx and it worked...if the problem JUST happened, use system restore, that worked for me once too

i completed reformated my PC and it still doing it...

I just sorted the problem!!
It was the monitor.. it was a flat screen.. didnt wanna play every game in Ddraw..
