Error reading drive A

That was the error msg and PC cannot boot in to windows or safe mode.

Positive. Customer had checked several times. PC was turned fine the day before. Apperantly according to microsoft tech, they said to just take out the floppy disk drive and it should be fine. But I don't get how the OS won't boot up even though there's a A drive error.

Check to 1st boot device, etc in the BIOS setup. Could be the FDD is the first boot device, and others are disabled.

Check the bios as Dallasdon said.
You can eliminate the floppy all together.
