Docsis modem

Anyone yet around here get a Docsis modem yet?

I am patiently waiting in Victoria Canada for it... Shaw the internet provider here is offerning it in a few city's so far but hopefully will come around to my city in the next couple of months.

What they say it will provide is.

5 mbps down

1 mbps up

I will wait and see but I'll definantely get it when it comes here.

its an extra 10 bucks a month to get but I think the speeds will be worth it.

what do you think?

Cable modem. DSL doesn't offer this.

ok thats ringing a bell now..(gotta get more sleep)...but thats what i have...and the opinions on it run just about the same as AMD vs. INTEL...NVIDIA vs. ATI...ECT...

i have a cable conn. and in my humble opinion....

IT ROCKS!!! neve had any major problems with it and i get 3.0mbps constantly....i hear dsl is good too but i tried to get it first and long story short three months after i made my first phone call....still no dsl...so called cable and in under 24hrs...BINGO...up and running

they will have to shut off my gas and repo my car before i will give it up and go back to dial-up....just my opnion though
