At Home rpl-rom-ffc

Although I know better now, I didn't format the hd first, but trusted the suse cd to do it for me. I got this error message 'rpl-rom-ffc, invalid partion table. setup can not continue; I've tried the win98 boot disk and searched this and many other sites. Should I reset bios, remove the hard drive and format it in another machine. Any suggestions?

I believe the "rpl-rom-ffc" message is your BIOS looking for boot devices, and it can't find any. Be sure the BIOS has the right boot order (set to boot from the Hard Drive.)

If it isn't that much of a hassle, you could format on a different computer, and see if that helps.

Thankyou for your response, since then I have gotten Caldera to load but the resolution isn't working out. When choosing 800x640 I get a very small screen, but then when choosing the extreme 1064x? - I get a split screen. Some friends at work who are Linux users are attempting to help - but any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Again thankyou,
Michael

A laptop, possibly?

For Dell laptops, you can 'stretch' the screen by pressing 'Fn + Font' keys.
