Massive speed spiking with winmx

Dudes, Im running winmx 3. with XP. Im on a DSL line. The last two days my download speeds have gone into a cycle of super speeds. I download aprox 20 avi/mpg files at a time, they are all like full movies, from 300 to 800 K. Usual download speed for these would be like 5 or 6 K each for a total speed of like 120K.
I am now spiking up to 900K!!! this seems to go on for about three or four minutes then backs off to 120K then back up to 900K!!! I have seen it go over a meg!!!!!. This also seems to happen if I am burning with ezcd6 at the same time. Any explanations for this phenom????I am afraid to call the ISP cause they might just "fix" it.
