Tech How do I configure my firewall??

Hi there. I don't know how to configure my firewall I have search about this subject but I don't understand. I was wondering if somebody could go through it step by step for me. I don't even know how to get to my firewall. I have telstra bigpond cable and they say that I am using a McAfee firewall. But i wouldn't know where to go to look for it on my computer or how to change the settings.

Thanks

I guess you have just gotten broadband installed, and now you need to get your firewall up and running, correct?

Go to Start/programs/

look for Mc Afee and see if you have the firewall in the program menu, first.

Please get back to us with more detail. Operating system, etc.

Edit: Is this a brand new computer, pre loaded with software, including Mc Afee firewall?

BTW: Welcome to Techimo!

I was going to recommend mfg help until I saw this on zdnet:

"McAfee's live chat support is available 24/7, but when we used it, the technician put us on hold several times for nearly an hour.

McAfee does offer both free 24/7 live chat and message forums staffed by volunteers. We tried out the former, waited 20 minutes, then had to endure a tedious exchange in which the rep asked us to detail what we were seeing on our MPFP 5.0 options screens. Don't they have this in front of them? If not, they should.

McAfee also provides a pair of paid phone options. You can either pay $2.95 per minute or $39 per incident to talk to the help desk. Phone support is available from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. PT, seven days a week, which beats Symantec's lame weekday-only support."

$2.95@ or $39.00 per incident? Yipes!

Hope it includes xxx at those rates.
