movie editor for windows

Hi guys. I'm thinking about going into the world of editing movies and such and would like to know what program[s] you'd recommend to combine video clips together. The format will most likely be mpeg or mpeg2 and the software can be free or shareware. Thanks.

VideoMach might be an option. It is free for non comercial use, but I don't think it is exactly what you need.

Well, if you have XP home or Pro, you could use Windows Movie Maker 2.
