My new wireless mouse right clicks on its own

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what I should do.

I'm watching tv or a dvd on my computer and all of a sudden the mouse seems to right click all by itself and the right click menu comes up and partially fills the screen. What a pain.

This is a new wireless mouse by creative labs. I looked briefly at usb and power modes and enabled usb mouse in bios.

Any help would be great.

Running xp and no newer drivers available by creative labs.

Do you have any other appliances like cordless phones or microwave ovens nearby that operate on or near the same frequency as your mouse? Try moving them and make sure the batteries are good in the mouse.

why the laughing? this happened with me and my neighbor in my dorm...we both have logitech wireless mouses... our solution was for one of us to change to channel 2 while the other stayed on channel 1... works fine now

if yours has different channels, try changing to another one...also make sure that the reciever isnt in some awkward place that could block or disrupt signals...

Why the laughing? Because I can imagine how frustrating it would be to be working on your computer, and suddenly it starts doing something that the neighbor is doing. It just seems funny to me.

Your mouse is probably possessed, but don't call for an exorcist yet. It could be a resource conflict with other devices or a conflict with the driver for your graphics adapters.
