anyone have a suggestion for a good laptop thats under $1200?

It's easier to pick your own. If you get what someone else tells you to get, you might not end up with what you wanted. Find a few that you think will do what you want, then ask which one would be best for what you're going to do with it.

at the bottom, more than 1200 though, I coulda sworn I saw in one of their magazines one that was like 1200 anyways, there are some perfomance laptops in the middle u might want to look at. GL

I'll agree with the nod towards Dell. You can get a Dell Inspiron 5150 right now for $1,048. I've had one for about 4 months now, and it's a sweet machine.
