Kids General Memory Questions

Hi everyone,

I currently have 512MB of pc2100 memory on my computer. I am looking to purchase another 512MB, but i have some questions.

First. I have found 512MB of PC2700 memory for cheeper than the PC2100 memory. Would there be a problem mixing the two?

Second. My motherboard supprots dual channel memory. Would it be possible to run two sticks of PC2700 256MB dual channel, And one stick of PC2100 512 non dual channel at the same time, or would i run into some problems.

Thanks,

Cooked

You should have no problems running the two different speeds of memory. It will just run at the slower speed.

I don't think adding a slower speed chip, as you stated, to a dual memory configuration will work but I'm not positive. Maybe someone else can give you a more difinitive answer.

The 3 pieces will likely run together but not dual channel mode. Also they will run at PC2100 speed. All pieces will run at the speed of the slowest piece.
