Kids CloneCD and COD

I am currently using CloneCD to make a backup copy of my Call of Duty disks. The backup seems to be taking a long time. 18min to get to 1%, but i have not recieved any errors.

Is this normal? is the backup not going well or is there some other setting i need in order to make it work better?

Thank you for any help.

wait for it to finish, then try the disk. Sometimes it can take a while because the disk has "errors" on it. These errors are actually a security measure meant to cause burning to fail, but CCD can pick past them. it just might take a while

Ok. I will wait but at this rate it will take a few hours. Are the errors all over the CD?

usually only up through the first 100-200mb. you can also try using Alchohol 120% if CCD doesnt work.

Got it done. Took over an hour to backup the first CD. Second CD was no problem. Thanks for the replies Tony!

Clony XXL ; Alcoholer; and Alcohol 120% are all you need for backing up games the first two are free but you have to pay for Alcohol 120%. This has worked for me to back up all of the games that i have.
1. start clony xxl scan the cd
2. load alcoholer, it will create a profile for the game you are trying to backup
3. start alcohol 120% use the profile that alcoholer created to make an image. this way it will only take a couple minutes to make the image instead of hours like with clonecd.
This is just the way i do it. there are probably other ways but this is the way that i have found to work best.

It sounds like your reader doesn't have Fast Error Skip or it's not enabled, hence the long time to read each and every error.

Because CoD is SafeDisc 3.x - there are "weak" sectors as the copy protection implemented by Macrovision.

I dont think my burner is that old but i dont know. I believe it is a 32x one made by AOpen. But you could be right poopeyhed.

I did start out with Alcohol 120% but it kept showing me the errors and since this was my fist game backup i was not sure if things were going well. CloneCD just keeps moving along and does not show you the read errors.

Good stuff to know for future backups.

Those 'errors' are correct and fine. I forget how well the AOpen drives perform on this - but the top 3 manufacturers on the top of my head are Plextor, Asus, and Lite-On.
