Kids Anyone heard/of Digital Research speakers?

I have the opportunity to buy a complete surround set of these speakers and I've been looking on the web for any info on these with no luck. I can't even find the manufacturer.

The model name is dr705si or dr705sl.

Any links or thoughts or anything would be appreciated.

Thanks

I do not mean to offend, but that is one of many "brand names" used in the infamous "white van speaker scam". Here's a link:

Wow thanks crazyray.

After reading that I noticed that there was a price on the one speaker "Retail Price $1500.00".

Hmm I'll have to take a good look at them first

Digital Research is a kind of no-name brand. They buy products from manufacturers and put them in their own retail package. Like Lite-On cd burners.

I always thought that Lite On was the brand that other manufaturers bought and rebranded?

Send a message via ICQ to OuTpaTienT
Lite-on has used Sony, Phillips, and others.

And Bones, you don't need to "take a good look at them", I can tell from here someone is trying to scam you. You don't see retail price stickers on boxes from warehouses, period.

Hey MitaDC the speakers are at a friends house.

One of his buddies got them from a relative that had a "closing out" sale. Hmm makes me wonder why, if he was selling those.

I didn't look at the actual speaker but the picture on the box looks cool. It had 2-6 1/2 inch drivers, tweeter and mid and prolly made of plywood ha ha.

Just to add I'm leary of buying stuff off anyone without taking a good look at it. I always ask about brand names, warranty, the age of whatever it is and why they are geting rid of it.

Thanks everyone I'll have to mention to the guy that he got ripped off.

Lite-on drives are the ones that get rebranded. Not the other way around. I know that Buslink rebrands Lite-on's for a fact and am sure there are many others.
