run Aida32 and find out what your cpu FSB is. Then decide on what RAM you want. (you want it to be equivalent or better)

Although its possible that the mobo may not support pc3200, from those other system specs, i would be pretty much willing to bet that it does. Most motherboards can't really take advantage of memory clocked faster than pc3200 AFAIK, unless its a super high end one, which i doubt coming from a pre-built vendor. so youd be best to stick with pc3200.

are you sure that the ram is 233 or is it 266 which is 133x2 if it really is 233 thats better than pc 3200 so doing that will be fine

also the 133fsb is multiplied by 4 to get 533 quad pumped

i think it was 266 then maybe :S....im not sure.

but what does that mean about my FSB? that its not really THAT slow, or at least as crapppp as i thought it was??

and just to sum up, what ram would yu reccomend i buy then???

I heard that even if i buy RAM at a speed which is not supported by my MOBO, it will only run at the maximum speed my MOBO can run it at...is this true?

thanks!

The Pentium 4 2.53GHz Processor runs on a 533FSB. So PC2700 is what you need or higher but I doubt your Motherboard unless (as stated above) is a high end MB and you can run your system memory above the FSB without overclocking the CPU's FSB, will utilize anything above PC2700.

pity....but......

so, i need PC2700 or higher??? and no, i only have the option to run my FSB at 100MHz or 133MHz, they are my only options in the BIOS.

BTW, wot speed does PC2700 run at??
