Slotket adapters
I've purchased 4 "Slot 1 to Socket 370" adapters.
The company described the adapter has having jumpers for setting single or dual CPU operation.
After much searching, the adapters do not have any such jumper - of this I am certain.
I've tried talking to the merchants support people, they have no data on who made the adapter, so I can't simply ask a manufacturer.
I bought them for use in converting a Dell Precision 410 to use Socket 370 CPUs. That system uses 2 Slot 1 CPUs.
The need for these adapters to work in that system is the whole of why I bought 2 the 4 adapters (the other 2 adapters will eventually get used in upgrading older Slot 1 systems). I won't consider returning any of them because they were too inexpensive to lose the possible future uses.
Does anyone know of an index that can tell me which adapters are and which are not Dual compatible? Or any other helpful information.... But read on before replying.
Helpful info:
2 piece adapter: PC card with socket/jumpers, and a black plastic clamshell to hold the adapter steady between the support rails of Slot 1 systems.
The adapters did not arrive in a retail case or blister pack, these were removed from systems.
8 jumpers in total:
5 jumpers for CPU VOLTAGE SETTING,
2 jumpers for FSB FREQUENVY SETTING (yes, that is what is on the board, 'FREQUENVY' with a vee)
1 jumper to decide PPGA Celeron or FC-PGA Coppermine.
(Does that last jumper provide implications of supporting dual CPU?)
Ths black clamshell has 2 industrial barcodes (example of one adapter):
752-04300-501-00
002470301300728
I know one of the 2 barcode numbers is different on all 4 adapters, and the other barcode number is the same..... If needed I can verify which is the 'serial' barcode number.
The only other beneficial info I can offer is that the PCB says "370 CPU CARD" in the upper right corner, and also says "5.0(S5.1)" in the lower left corner. Made in china. FCC and CE marks.
TIA!
