viewing pdf files

i am trying to view a pdf file through a link on a web page but when i click on the link it brings up the error box asking if i want to report it to microsoft. then i say no and it just kicks me off explorer. IE v. 6, windows 98. are there settings i can change in IE to possibly fix this - the link for the pdf file works fine on my other pc.

Do you have Acrobat installed on the computer in question? You need that on the machine to read the pdf files, I believe. Plugs-ins are not enough.

EDIT: If it is installed, maybe right click the link to DL the file to your HDD.

try right clicking and selecting "save target as" and save the pdf document on your computer. If you still can't open it, try reinstalling Acrobat Reader.

reinstalled acrobat 6.0 and also tried right clicking and save target as. still not working. seems similar to this problem below, - except it just happens when i click on the view PDF link, however this fix doesnt work - dont have that option in IE
