I leased a second IP from my provider and used two routers hooked to a switch that was then uplinked to one cable modem. The WAN IP of one router used one IP from my provider and the other IP went to the WAN port of the second router. The two internal LANs of the routers were different. The extra IP was about $5/month. And of course there's the extra expense of a second router. But it gives you two entirely separate networks that won't even share the same external IP.
