Computer is on a distinguished road
2 problems

About a week ago I noticed that when I log of my windows. I get a task error that says that rundll32.exe did not shut down properly. So I went a googling for this particluar error and found a solution that said I could reload rundll32.exe from my XP CD. So I plan on going into the sfc like I says and it doesn't work. I don't seem to have a sfc on my computer! When I run sfc a small command window open and closes really quickly, but thats all that happens. I am running win XP home on this comp but I seem to have misplaced the disk at the moment. I do have an Xp Pro disk available If I need to copy any files. I hope you can help.
Thanks.

Sorry. My memory served me bad.

See if you're virus free. That's always a good start
Especially if the same happens on regedit (starts up, closes real fast) and similar.

Sounds like a virus, trojan or worm.
run antivirus
run ad-aware and/or spybot search and destroy.

I would also do a find file search on your system for rundll32.exe.. and see how many you have.. and where they are.
(be sure you have it search system files and folder and hidden items)

the same thing happened to me, but I solved the problem with Adaware. Some spy crap was trying to use the .exe
