Need Some Help Win 98SE

OK,
Thank you everyone for helping me out with the last one. I started the install of win 98. This message came up

"Please wait while setup initializes. Scanning system registry. Windows setup requires 7340032 bites available on your drive C:"

I just ran fdisk and deleted everything and created a new partin. The disk is 4GB and i have had win98 on there before.

If you have access to another Win98 pc copy the format command to a boot disk. Boot to DOS and enter "format c:" without the qoutes at the prompt.

I didn't see format.exe on a Win98SE setup boot disk or on a Win98SE disk from Bootdisk.com.

It is on the Win98SE cd in the X:\Win98 folder.

on a regular win98se bootdisk...you have that whole "ramdrive" thing happening.

where it gives drive d: as the ramdrive, the temp drive where it holds the tools such as format.exe

format.exe resides in the ebd.cab I assume, until it is then opened up and expanded into the d ramdrive.

So you cant SEE it when looking at the floppy in "My Computer"..but its definitely there when u boot from the floppy. I think u just change to drive d: and then its "format c:" or "format c: /q"

Format.COM is in the EDB.cab file on the floppy. When you boot with the floppy it creates a ram drive in your mems and put the tools in there including format. Just type in (assuming you're in A:\) FORMAT C:/s/u

It will do a quick format and not save the unformat info.
