Win 2K Pro and Win XP Pro Woes

Hi,

I have my laptp running XP Pro connected to a desktop running 2K Pro. The Laptop sees the desktop and accesses all the shared files and printer no probs.

What I can't do is find the Laptop from the desktop. I have done that search for computers thingie with no luck. I will swear it used to find it. The one thing I do see which may have some influence on it is the Desktop is in a Workgroup and the Laptop is in MS Home. I can't open MS Home on the desktop and get an error message that says

I would also like to know if I can share the Scanner which is connected to the desktop machine via USB.

Update: I must have been completely stunned when I was trying to sort this out. I changed the workgroup names and now each machine can see the other no probs.
