WINS, would you bother?

During a moment of boredom today I started to ponder if I should really be running a WINS server on our network (not that I have for teh last 3 years), so I thought I would ask for some opinions. The domain is running in Windows 2003 mode with two DC's, 12 member servers and has two AD integrated DNS servers (for what its worth).

Currently only a very small number of our workstations (maybe 60 out of about 700+) run anything other than XP or 2k so I have never bothered setting up a WINS server and just relied on them broadcasting as required (all the machines are on one subnet). These old machines are nearly all terminal services clients so they don't really do much other than connect to one of our terminal servers.

Would you bother setting up a WINS server? I am thinking not, but perhaps I have overlooked something?

Any attempts to satisfy my idle curiosity greatly appreciated.

Ta

I have never used WINS and can not think of a reason you should use it in that type of network.

Ta, thats what I was thinking. It just occured to me that it would probably cut down on all the broadcasting if the legacy clients were setup to use wins (via dhcp or whatever) but I really don't think I can be bothered for so few machines.

Thanks again.
