How should I set my jumpers?

I have a SOYO SY-K7VMP motherboard it has 3 FSB clock settings.100MHz,133MHz,and 166MHz.I also have a AMD Athlon XP 2800 CPU.I have the mobo set at 100MHz and the CPU is only running at 1.25GHz any 1 know if I could set the jumpers for 133 or 166MHz or will this fry the CPU?

It should be set at 166. Go for it!
Should be 12.5 X 166 = 2075mhz

the 2800+ has a 166mhz (333ddr) fsb

it is made to be ran at 166 so that is where u need to set the jumper.

No it wont fry it,lol.

The motherboard usually come jumpered at the lowest speed so that if u have a duron that IT wont get fried.


you can see that the multiplier of you cpu is 12.5....so you are getting 100x12.5=1.25ghz.....so when you step it up to 166mhzx12.5 you will get the 2.08 ghz that it is supposed to run at)

Wow I'm just trying to use this messaging stuff now. and somehow it's a lot easier now. I'm gonna have to get some sleep and come back when I have some rest and tackle my problem about the firewall tomorrow. This is great to have access to now! I sure hope I can make it work.

Ok I got it running at 2.08GHz but know somt times when I start my PC it starts gets to the windows XP start screen to pick a user then shuts off.Then restarts with a error report thingy.?????????????????????????????
