19" Flat CRTs

Looking at getting a 19" Flat CRT

was looking at:

AOC Pure Flatface 9KLR-SLK 19"
ViewSonic G90F+, 19"
Samsung Syncmaster 955DF 19"

Does any one have any views or recomendations on the above? Does anyone have the AOC monitor - this looks more tempting to me as its a bit cheaper than the rest, but I cannot find any reviews on this model.

I would call the AOC brand a mid range. Certainly better than KDS and the likes. They are also sold under the brand name of Envision. If all 3 were priced the same I would get the Samsung. My personal opinion.

What is the difference between the Philips 109P40 and the 109B55 19" Flat monitors aside from the big price difference. Google hasn't been much help and as far as I can find so far they look like they have identical specs?

I just got a ViewSonic E90F+SB for a really good price...

Excellent monitor. Great picture.

I got regular ground shipping and it was at my house the next day. That's because I live really close to where it shipped from, though.

The same monitor at Best Buy (A90F, Retail Version) sells for $50.00 more and you only get a one year warranty instead of a three year with the E90F+SB. And the E90F+SB is a better monitor!

I've had experience with the Samsung Syncmaster, and its a very nice 19"er. IMO, get whats cheaper between the Viewsonic and Samsung.<----im a penny pincher

The A90F and E90F are different designs. As I recall, the A90F uses an aperture grille tube.

Until I bought a flatpanel, I had a Samsung 955DF, and, for the price, it was an extremely good monitor.

I called ViewSonic tech support to find out any differences between the two and which of the two where better before I bought one. The guy said that there was no physical difference between the two and that they were different in name only. The A90F is the retail version for sale at stores like Best Buy and Circuit City. The E90F also has a three year warranty compared to the A90F's 1 year.
