Moding Xbox

my friend has moded his xbox without a chip or anything just using a memory card and his contoller, and i want to do that too. i was just wondering if anyone has any links on that. thx

xbox-scene.com is the place to go. the modd you are referring to sounds like the mech assault/james bond exploit. i wouldnt recomend that personaly, but it is simple. check out the forums on that site. plenty help and other great stuff including all the tools and apps you might need.

im considering modding a second box myself.

I would only recommend those exploits if you intend on flashing the TSOP. Otherwise software hacks arn't worth it. With the clock-loop and all and other problems.

What do the exploits do? I have an XBOX and I don't plan on modding it but what do they do for u, like this one mentinoed ^^

i would recommend flashing the bios or getting a chip installed. executer2 is great. evolutionX is sweet

What they do:

The exploits are "hacked" saves for certian games(MechAssault, James Bong, and 1 other) that, when loaded somehow loads a moddified bios. Then it loads the EvolutionX dashboard and allows the user to ftp over files. Now is where the real exploiting goes on. There are different files that the Xboxdash loads up. Somehow some people found out how to load some new bios in the process..bla bla basically they allow you to play unsigned code. aka backed up games, homebrew, XBMC, Windows CE, Some modified versions of Linux, ect.

i am not sure you can get that far with the save game exploit. i could be wrong though. i just remeber reading that somewhere on a guide somewhere

Ok, I'm not sure about Linux and windows CE but I know you can do the others.

You may have to flash TSOP, or get a chip for those two.

it sounds like the method that was being used to run linux on xbox, but i thought that had been shut down with a forced update patch (i think this was piped to your xbox when using xbox live ).
