general question?

hey all, I have a few general questions relating to drivers, I think they are motherboard drivers but to be honest I am really not sure, heres the info I have...(os=winxp) ,the following say they do not have drivers. I'm not sure if they need drivers or not as I don't know what they are, any help in deciphering would be very much appreciated

In device manager, under the heading -System devices-

1) system board (no driver)

2) NVIDEA nforce2 memory controller (no driver)

3) motherboard resources (no driver)

4) system timer (no driver)

5) system speaker (no driver)

6) programmable interrupt controller (no driver)

one more question I have is regarding digital audio output, I have a 2 pin digital connector on my cd/rw, will this go from 2pin to 4 pin at the motherboard and connect into cd1 jack, also will this increase my volume in any way?

thanks sao95

you definitely need the motherboard drivers...did it come with a cd? if not you'll have ot get them from the website.

I dont think the digital output from the cd goes to "CD1"..I am almost positive that the 4 pin motherboard jack is for analog audio..not digital...I wouldnt try it if I were you. It must specifically say digital input for it to work...check the motherboard manual and see what it says.

maybe the motherboard cd has a program that needs to be ran...like an executable program.

What does the manual say??

Where these devices are listed in the device manager are there yellow exclamation marks on them? If they don't have marks by them they should be ok. Mine show no drivers installed.
